00;00;15;09 - 00;00;16;15
Christina
Is that. Yeah.

00;00;18;28 - 00;00;20;29
Meghan
Yeah. Yeah. I can't do it.

00;00;20;29 - 00;00;21;13
Christina
You can't.

00;00;21;18 - 00;00;27;12
Meghan
I can't, like, roll my hours in Spanish, you know, which is funny, cause my.

00;00;27;24 - 00;00;29;28
Christina
Bad though, like that.

00;00;29;28 - 00;00;38;20
Meghan
Yeah. I can't do that. Yeah. Anyway, that's our announcement by.

00;00;38;20 - 00;00;54;05
Christina
Oh, yeah, that is funny. I never thought about Civil not being able to do that. Okay, guys, drum roll. So the big announcement is we are pressing pause on the podcast. We are going on hiatus.

00;00;54;05 - 00;00;56;02
Meghan
For a break. Mm hmm. Yes.

00;00;56;02 - 00;01;15;22
Christina
So we are excited. We don't know how excited you are, but we are excited about this announcement. So we're going to be gone for the summer. So starting in May, this is the end of April. We are going into May. We will come back this fall. So, Megan, are we going to wait at home our big plans for the summer?

00;01;15;22 - 00;01;16;12
Christina
Are we just going to.

00;01;16;16 - 00;01;18;10
Meghan
Know now's good now as well.

00;01;19;07 - 00;01;23;01
Christina
Can anybody get my big plans are my might.

00;01;23;01 - 00;01;28;26
Meghan
Be if I had two yeses I'd use the first one to guess.

00;01;28;26 - 00;01;30;06
Christina
Pickleball. Mm hmm.

00;01;30;07 - 00;01;37;05
Meghan
And the second one to guess. Going on adventures like vague, ambiguous adventures.

00;01;37;14 - 00;01;44;07
Christina
Vague, ambiguous adventures. Yes, yes, yes. That. You nailed it. You might know me a little bit.

00;01;44;28 - 00;01;51;02
Meghan
Yeah. You're having pickleball summer. It's kind of like hot girl summer, except it's just very me.

00;01;51;11 - 00;01;55;19
Christina
There's the paddle involved.

00;01;55;19 - 00;02;31;02
Meghan
Wait a minute. Oh, yeah, that's awesome. Yeah. And for me, I'm just, you know, excited, too. So I work full time in addition to doing this podcast. So I'm excited to have the brain space to the brain space and then like the time freedom to hang out with my son who's going to be off from school. We don't have like huge, crazy things planned, but just to be able to do things together, you know, having some afternoons back, having some evenings back, just the time freedom to be able to do that.

00;02;31;02 - 00;02;58;29
Meghan
And then in addition, it frees up space in your brain when you take a break, when you actually rest. And this is listen, if this is the first you're hearing of this new concept called rest, I just learned about it, too. Like this year, 36 years old. And I am I am a recovering, like, proud workaholic. So, you know, I just said I work full time in addition to doing the podcast, in addition to doing all these other things right.

00;02;58;29 - 00;03;22;04
Meghan
So I'm trying to pay attention to when I need to rest. And I think that it's really important to take a break because that gives your brain space to come up with new ideas and to be creative. So come back in the fall, we'll have new, better content because we're not just on this constant hamster wheel of pushing things out.

00;03;22;04 - 00;03;29;11
Meghan
We'll have time to stop and reflect and create so we can come back with really exciting podcasts in the future.

00;03;29;11 - 00;03;52;14
Christina
I agree. I remember Brené Brown talking about this idea of of play and then this is kind of maybe jumping a little bit, but I'll bring it back. But adults quit playing at a certain point in their life and play is a really important part of creativity, of innovation and all of that. So if you are someone who is there's no play in your life.

00;03;52;14 - 00;04;22;07
Christina
There's no getting together with friends and hanging out, you know, playing a board game. There's no going out and playing pickleball or doing something creative. Those things actually help your brain. So maybe if you're on a team at work and you guys have not, you're really struggling to come up with new ideas, go out and do a paint party together, go out and do something creative together, go throw axes or something doing something that you're playing together.

00;04;22;07 - 00;04;27;18
Christina
And you will be surprised at how much creativity and innovation can come out of something like that.

00;04;27;18 - 00;04;48;04
Meghan
That's true. And I think there's a lot of a lot of bosses that would view that as, oh, you know, you're on the clock, it's working, hours need to be working, but there really is value in. Yes, resting for science. I used to have an art focused business. It was like the main part of my business. I did murals and artwork, custom stuff all the time.

00;04;48;04 - 00;05;08;03
Meghan
And what I would have to do is I would finish a painting and then I would have to look away from it for a while. You know, I'd have to go do something else and then come back. And then when I come back to it, I can see what I need to change. And it's so glaringly obvious at that point, you know, it's not.

00;05;08;03 - 00;05;22;18
Meghan
But up until that point, when I'm in it, when I'm looking at it, I can't see those those things that I want to change to make it better. Right? So that's what we're doing. We're taking a step back from the painting and then we'll be back in the fall.

00;05;22;28 - 00;05;43;29
Christina
Have you and I ever talked about that concept before? Because I had a business doing paint parties, you know this, but I would have to tell people while they were doing the painting, they would just be like, Oh, this is awful. And I'd have to say, get up and walk away. And then I would also tell it like that and come back to it.

00;05;43;29 - 00;05;58;21
Christina
And then I would also tell them I hang it up tonight when you get home and when you get up in the morning and every time people will be like, Oh my gosh. And I have done that so many times too. And what is it about walking away and coming back and you're like, wow, look at look at what I did.

00;05;58;26 - 00;06;02;28
Christina
Like, it doesn't make a difference. It looks like it's too in your face.

00;06;02;28 - 00;06;21;16
Meghan
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Paint parties was an element of my business, too. I did them for little kids. And then I also taught at this, like, senior home and and that was the same thing. They would not like their painting, you know, and I would take it up and walk around the room. Let's everybody walk around the room and look at everybody's paintings.

00;06;21;23 - 00;06;45;08
Meghan
And so now they're they're complimenting other people's artwork, which is boosting that person. And then they're seeing that everybody's looks I mean, pretty similar while painting the same picture, you know, some people have different takes on it and some people, you know, do things a slightly different way, but it's still kind of the same element. And then they get back to their painting and they're like, Oh, yeah, okay, yeah.

00;06;45;15 - 00;06;49;09
Meghan
Or they're like, okay, I see that. I need to add something here, you know?

00;06;49;09 - 00;07;10;18
Christina
So it's interesting that you and I both found those things like that's probably a universal because you and I did not know each other when we did that. Yeah. So, so yeah, if you're hearing us and you need to get up and walk away from something that you're doing, like we want to give you that permission to give yourself that permission to get up, take a rest, walk around the room, come back in the morning and try it again.

00;07;10;23 - 00;07;23;10
Meghan
Yep. Take a beat and we'll see you in the fall if you subscribe to our podcast, you'll be notified when we publish another episode. So that way you'll get it immediately right when it comes out. Yes.

00;07;23;10 - 00;07;37;14
Christina
And you can also follow both of us on social media. So if you wanted to see what we're up to this summer, all the fun things that we're doing to inspire you, I will be in my greenhouse. I will be playing pickleball. I will be at the beach. All the things that you do.

00;07;37;18 - 00;07;41;05
Meghan
Oh, yeah? You have a beach really close by. Oh, that's pretty awesome.

00;07;41;05 - 00;07;44;09
Christina
Oh, and a river, too. I have a river square.

00;07;44;09 - 00;07;47;16
Meghan
Do you swim in the ocean? I've never seen you get in the ocean, though.

00;07;47;18 - 00;08;00;10
Christina
I mean, I put my feet in, but yeah, I don't know. I want to be able to see I swim when I'm in Hawaii. Yeah, definitely. Like I can. Yeah, I can see the fish in the water thicker.

00;08;00;10 - 00;08;20;06
Meghan
Yeah. I only like swimming when I can see in the bottom. So yeah. If you follow us on Instagram. Follow us at Full Cup Club podcast.
